Croydon High School recognised by Sir David Attenborough

Congratulations to Croydon High Junior School Gardening Club who have received the School For Nature Award – signed and approved by none other than Sir David Attenborough.

This year, the RSPB, WWF, WWT and the Woodland Trust collectively highlighted all the schools that have taken action to protect and restore nature. Croydon High School were selected and their eco-friendly gardening credentials were listed as follows:

  • Planting pollinator-friendly plants
  • Companion planting instead of using pesticides.
  • Removing pests by hand and relocating them
  • Creating our own compost
  • Creating leaf mould
  • Using no dig techniques to keep carbon in the soil.
  • Using peat free compost.
